Camino de Santiago Bike Pilgrimage

photo from leoncarol.com

Camino de Santiago is a pilgrimage in Spain that is more often hiked than biked, and doesn't have much singletrack, but is definitely worth checking out. The pilgramage ends at Camino de Santiago, but has many possible begin points (see map here), some in France. The most common route begins in Pamplona (see map here)

Not a trail, but a variety of routes that all lead to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain. This hisorical catholic pilgramage is done by many on foot and bicycle and by non-Catholics, simply for the history and the experience. Although there isn't any singletrack, how many other trails promise you a 50% reduction of your time in purgatory upon completion?
